Halle Berry’s menopause journey inspired me to write this. I’ve heard so many opinions about menopause growing up, even that it doesn’t exist and it’s just a product of your environment. That “environment” part? We’ll touch more on that in another blog. But what stood out to me most was how little softness is offered to women during this time.
I was born in Jamaica, raised under the South Florida sun, and I’m now planting roots in West Africa.
After years of hustling, overgiving, and hiding the fullness of my feminine power. As I deepened my own practice of healing, journaling, steaming, and self-celebration, I realized I wasn’t alone. Women were craving more than products. They wanted permission to live sensually, slowly, and on their own terms. This platform was born from that desire, to bring beauty, body love, and wellness back into the everyday.
After COVID, life got loud. The world didn’t slow down, it spiraled. I found myself pulling back from the spaces I used to pour into. The constant noise, pressure, and negativity were draining my peace and my rituals.
I needed a break. I needed a rebirth. So I stopped chasing what I thought I should be doing and started listening to what my body truly needed: softness, slowness, sunlight, and solitude.
I let go of the pressure to keep my business on top and chose to come home to myself. I made room for grace, and in that space, I found balance again.
Soft Girl Summer is the result. Not just a brand, but a healed pace.
A gentle revolution that starts within.
